Summer Theatre Introduction
Led by Danielle Roberston and Andy Robinson, students will learn techniques in acting, movement, and voice that will give them confidence, develop motor skills, and teach them the excitement of being part of a live theatrical production. Over the course of 5 days, we will give the students a fully-realized performance of a play for family and friends at the culmination of the camp.

A five-day camp that will culminate in a production showcasing students’ talents.
When?
Typically the second week in June.

Young actors who have finished Grades 1-6 are welcome.

Cost
$150, which includes admission to our 2012 professional production of Peter Pan on Thursday afternoon.

Our Professional Teaching Staff
Andy Robinson (DIRECTOR) has directed the Wagon Wheel Youth Theatre Programs for seven years. He holds a Masters from NYU in Educational Theatre and has taught theatre to grades 1-12 for over fifteen years in both New York City and Chicago. He is currently Chair of the Department of Musical Theatre at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. A long time Wagon Wheel actor, his favorite roles include the 2nd Gangster in Kiss Me, Kate, Jud in Oklahoma, and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. Along with Ben Dicke, he directed Brighton Beach Memoirs and The Importance of Being Earnest on the Wagon Wheel mainstage.
Danielle Robertson (SUMMER THEATRE INTRODUCTION) is a living history museum of Theatre, Television, and Film work. In television, she has worked with Dean Martin, Carol Burnett, Laugh-In, appeared on “The Hollywood Palace Show,” and was a regular for on “The Beverly Hillbillies” as Helen Thompson. Her film credits include My Fair Lady, Paint Your Wagon, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Oliver, and others. She was also Amy on the national tour of Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Danielle—though an accomplished director, scenic designer, props and costume builder, and actress—is really a teacher at heart. She holds a PhD from University of California (Irvine) and has taught for over 30 years at all levels, from grade school to college.
