On February 4th and 5th, the Wagon Wheel Theatre presents it’s very first Wagon Wheel Jr. Production, Tiny Thumbelina, the Musical. Dean and Carol Lyn Jansen of Jansen Orthopedic donated $5,000 to support the show.
“We are excited to be able to assist in the growth of new community programs as the Wagon Wheel continues to support and expand these experiences for all community members,” said Carol Lyn.
Wagon Wheel Theatre Artistic Director, Scott Michaels emphasizes the importance of community support. “The need is great. Although we have a great foundation and history, we are essentially in our first year of operation and starting from square one. Our hope is that other businesses will follow Jansen Othopedic’s lead and help fund these amazing programs.”
The Wagon Wheel hosted an audition for the Jr. Production in December and over 100 kids from the area showed up hoping to land a part in the show. Ultimately a cast of 25 was selected, which means 75 percent will have to come back to audition for a future show. Michaels plans on producing four Jr. shows per year.
Tiny Thumbelina, the Musical is scheduled for two matinee performances on February 4th and 5th at 2pm. All tickets are $12 and benefit the Wagon Wheel Jr.
